Duplicate

Zero - The worst score possible on a given board in a duplicate matchpoint game.
 


Bidding

Zero Or Two Higher (Cards) - An opening lead convention, where the leader's card shows either two higher cards than the one lead or no cards higher than the one led.  A typical example is the convention, "Jack denies, 10 or 9 implies" meaning the lead of a 10 or 9 implies zero or two higher cards.  See Coded Nines and Tens (Jack Denies, 10 Implies)

Zero Tolerance - The ACBL Board of Directors and Management are committed to improving acceptable player behavior at all times. In accordance with Laws 74, 80F, 81C4, 90A, 91, and 92A (Laws of Duplicate Bridge) the following policy outlines what is expected of all players during NABCs and other ACBL sponsored events, as well as in the playing area before and after each session. Duplicate

Zip - Typically scheduled late in the evening (sometimes called "midnight zip"), the Fast Pairs game the speed of play is increased by a major factor. Instead of the usual seven to eight minutes allowed to play each board, the game is set up so that boards must be completed in five minutes. Sometimes this permits more boards to be played. More often this type of game results in a game finishing at an earlier time. Such a game often is called a Speedball Pairs.
