Stolen Bid Double (Shadow Double, Double of a Cuebid) - A double of Right Hand Opponent's bid suit, indicating the doubler would have bid the suit if not "stolen" by their Right Hand Opponent. This approach is part of the "systems on" methodology. Conventional treatment of a double is alertable.  Here a few illustrative examples:

Bid

Meaning

1N - (2C) - X

Responder's double is "Stayman", showing the player would have bid 2C Stayman had their RHO first bid the suit (i.e., "systems on").

1N - (4D) - X

Responder's double here is a transfer to 4H when playing Texas Transfers with "systems on"

P - (P) - 1H - (2C);
X

Playing Drury "stole my bid", a Double of opponent's 2C is played by some to 10-11 points with trump support.
