Double of a Cuebid (Stolen Bid) - A Double of opponents' Cuebid at a high-level auction may be intended to be a lead-directing double, although it may prescribe a lead of another suit.

Auction

Meaning

(1N) - P - (2H) - X

2 Hearts = Transfer to Spades.
The double asks partner to lead a Heart

(1H) - P - (4C) - X

4 Clubs = Splinter, showing Hearts and Club shortness.
Since it would be unwise to lead to or from a Club Ace, here a double asks for a lead in Diamonds or Spades (depending on partnership agreement).  With favorable vulnerability, the double asks partner to consider a sacrifice in opponents' short suit.

1H - (3S) -  P - (3N);
 P  -  ( P) - (X)

The double requests a Spade, planning to return a Heart after winning Spade tricks
