Refinements video &#8211; Polling You #32, Part 1<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>BridgeHands<\/em> members &#8211; after logging in, please scroll down to view text and video&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Under some circumstances the responder is bound by precise guidelines when making a Negative Double, while in other situations the responder is granted some flexibility in the shape of their side suit assets.\u00a0 Generally, additional restrictions are put in place to demonstrate to easily show opener the good news before the advancing LHO launches an unexpected preemptive bid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Then there\u2019s the matter of responder first Doubling and then bidding a new suit.\u00a0 Is that similar to the \u201cType 2\u201d Takeout Double or are all bets off considering the responder is making a Negative Double?\u00a0 Hmm, perhaps there are different strokes for different folks?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s begin by looking at some details on responder\u2019s strength requirements to make a Negative Double.\u00a0 Recall the basics from our prior session:<br \/>\n1 level = 6+ points<br \/>\n2 level minor = 8+ points<br \/>\n2 level major = 9+ points<br \/>\n3 level = 10+ points<!--more--><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1C \u2013 (1H) &#8211; ?\u00a0 Double with Kxxx\u00a0 xx\u00a0 Kxxx\u00a0 xxx\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Responder enjoys 2 cover cards.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1C \u2013 (2H) &#8211; ?\u00a0 Pass with Kxxx\u00a0 xx\u00a0 Kxxx\u00a0 xxx\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Try to have 9 distribution points at 2 major level.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1C \u2013 (2H) &#8211; ?\u00a0 Pass with Kxxx\u00a0 Qx\u00a0 Kxxx\u00a0 xxx\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 8 HCP but questionable valuation on Heart Queen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1C \u2013 (2H) &#8211; ?\u00a0 Double with Kxxx\u00a0 xx\u00a0 Kxxx\u00a0 Qxx\u00a0\u00a0 With 8+ points and good Queen placement, close enough.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1C \u2013 (2H) &#8211; ?\u00a0 Double with Kxxx\u00a0 Kx\u00a0 Kxxx\u00a0 xxx\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With 3 primary honors, well placed Heart King, double.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1C \u2013 (3H) &#8211; ?\u00a0 Double with Kxxx\u00a0 Kx\u00a0 Kxxx\u00a0 xxx\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Count as 10 distribution points, again double for Spade fit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1C \u2013 (4H) &#8211;
