2 Diamond Opener - An opening bid of 2D holds many conventional meanings, in addition to the legacy natural strong bid.  Examples:

4 Spades and 5 Hearts with 11 - 15 points

Multi 2D

A three-way bid, showing one of several hand (partnership agreements vary)

Preemptive weak 2 level bid in an unspecified major

"Mini-roman" 4=4=4=1 hand with 17-20 points

3.

Balanced 19-20 points

Mexican 2D (Romex)

A three-way bid, showing one of several hands (partnership agreements vary)

1.

Balanced 20-21 point hand

2.

A strong, game forcing natural bid with long Diamonds

3.

A strong, game forcing bid with 4-4-4-1 (or 5-4-4-0) distribution

Mini Roman

Showing a 4-4-4-1 or 5-4-4-0 distribution

Weak 2

A preemptive bid, typically showing a 6 card Diamond suit

Weak 2 in Majors

A preemptive bid, promising a long major suit; responder puppets to 2H, which opener may correct
