Name: Play a Swiss Teams of Four With Mike Lawrence
Author: Lawrence, Mike
Popularity:
Target Audience: Intermediate
Category: General
Pages: 95 Date: 1982

Synopsis: One of the world's great players in eight exciting matches. See how Mike makes winning decisions after you attempt to make the correct bids and plays. In the Play a Swiss Team of Four With Mike Lawrence, you are again partnered with Alex as you play a day of bridge against all kinds of players. The only difference is that you are playing in an IMP tournament which differs from matchpoints. Mike has become quite prolific bridge writer. His first book, How to Read Your Opponents' Cards was named bridge book of the year in 1973 by Alfred Sheinwold. In 1976 Mike wrote Judgment at Bridge for which Sheinwold graciously created an introduction. Then followed The Complete Book on Overcalls in Contract Bridge, and smilarly titled works on the topic of Balancing and Hand Evaluation, all of which Sheinwold has been pleased to introduce; Overcalls was Mike's second "bridge book of the year", taking Sheinwold's award for 1980. A digression from his role as an author-teacher is True Bridge Humor, and his book Play a Swiss Team of Four With Mike Lawrence has been described by many readers as equivalent to a novel, building suspense in such fashion that the reader couldn't put it down until it had been finished.
